1. Confirm cage size, payload and mast compatibility

For a construction hoist, the cage size is only one part of the specification. Buyers should also confirm payload, cage quantity, mast section size, drive system, control system, safety device, landing door requirements and required installation height.
A 2.5 m cage can be attractive for material handling and passenger movement, but the final decision should be based on site logistics, platform layout and local safety rules.
2. Look closely at refurbishment quality

A good refurbished hoist should have clear photos of the cage frame, mast sections, rack, pinion, motor, gearbox, electrical cabinet, cable trolley, limit switches and safety device. Paint alone is not proof of quality.
Ask the supplier to separate cosmetic refurbishment from functional refurbishment, and request loading photos so you know which mast sections, cages and accessories were shipped.
Construction hoist buyer checklist

|---|---|---|
| Cage | Size, frame condition, doors and floor | Affects safety and material flow |
| Mast section | Section size, rack condition and quantity | Controls final installation height |
| Drive system | Motor, gearbox, brake and pinion wear | Determines reliability under load |
| Safety system | Limit switches, anti-fall device and electrical cabinet | Critical for local compliance and site safety |
